Old Red Schoolhouse 11 x 14 Giclee

An old school house on a cold wintery day in Ohio.  This drawing was created a little differently than traditional pen and ink for which I am known. I used a series of slightly different gray ink washes to create the snow laden clouds and a heavier wash for the old naked tree.

The red was added first using white comic book ink to “flash” the area to make it white, then red inks. Finally, a light gray wash was used to darken the building unevenly

Finally the long uncut grasses and details in the trees got my signature photorealistic treatment with a final touch of white comic book ink on the windows.

I feel the cool winter day whenever I look at this one…
